Spotted Knapweed . . . (Centaurea maculosa) . . . One of the
most notorious and destructive of weeds in the Northwest. In Montana alone,
2 million hectares (5 million acres)—an area half the size of countries
like Holland or Switzerland—is said to be dominated by this
one species alone.
 Introduced from Eurasia
into North America.
Invasive.
