Wayne on his Sprayrider.

Wayne and I crossed ways just East of Chester, Montana. He
told me about the unpaved road up into the Sweet Grass Hills.
I followed this route, eventually all the way into Canada and
the Northfork of the famous Milk River Canyon Land
(Writing-on-Stone) . . .

Ah, Montana East of the Rockies—land of little rain, endless skies,
and of silence stretching to silence. Land of fine, honest, friendly people.
How distant and unreal seems the mean-spirited face of a corrupt
Washington and America that the whole world has come to know
and fear!

Yes, Montana East of the Rockies—if you want to experience the
greatness of what North America once was, this is a fine place
to begin.

On the road in American Northwest.
